We are committed to growing and maturing as disciples of Jesus who are, in turn, helping others to become disciples of Jesus.
At Grace Baptist Church, our discipleship path is created to help you understand and live-out what it truly means to be a follower of Christ.
Here's a link to a diagram to help you better understand the path. The Discipleship Path
The path to becoming a disciple begins with sharing. Before you put your faith in God, someone shared with you how salvation is found only through Jesus Christ. You learned about the price He paid to free us from sin, and you responded to that message by putting your faith in Jesus.
Once someone has put their faith in Jesus, we help them begin their journey of becoming a disciple of Jesus with a devotional called Week One. Week One is a 7-day devotional booklet designed to help a new believer establish fundamental understandings and teachings as they begin their new life in Christ.
We encourage and help all believers to write out their testimony of how God brought them to the point of salvation, how Jesus worked to save them, and how their life has been changed. We do this so that we have a tool to share with others how God has worked in our lives personally.
Believer’s baptism is a public demonstration of faith exercised in obedience to the Lordship of Christ. Baptism symbolizes a believer’s one-time and eternal union with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matt 28:18-20; Acts 2:38).
MENTORING / ACCOUNTABILITY GROUPS
Our mentoring and accountability groups pair mature believers with new believers to help them establish a deeper relationship with God.
SMALL GROUP DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES
Small group discipleship classes focus on certain topics (like parenting, finance, marriage, etc.) and meet at various times during the year. These groups provide a time of fellowship, encouragement, and studying the Word of God.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
We have Sunday School classes for all ages that meet at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. In Sunday School, you can connect and build relationships with others who are on the same journey toward Christ-likeness.
When you accepted Christ, you not received salvation, but you were also given something very special from God. You were given a gift to use to serve God in a unique way. God’s plan is for you to meet a specific need in the church family, and He has gifted you in a special way to meet that need. Our Spiritual Gifts Team will help you find your gift and better understand how you can use it in the ministry of Grace Baptist Church.
Grace Baptist Church offers many opportunities to serve the Lord in the church, in the community, and in the world through participation in ministry teams. We want to help you find a place to serve that will best fit your gifts, experience, and passion.
As followers of Jesus mature and grow, we then release them to pour into others to help them in their journey of becoming mature disciples. During this stage in the path, you reproduce disciples by sharing Christ with others, explaining the discipleship path with new believers, engaging in and modeling discipleship, and releasing others to make disciples.
