Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you just moved to the area and need to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, you probably have a few questions before you visit Grace Baptist Church.
Here are some common questions to help you get an idea of what to expect on a Sunday at Grace.
What is your Sunday schedule?
Sunday School classes begin at 9:00am. Our Worship Service begins at 10:00am and finishes at 11:15am.
What Do I Wear?
You'll see a wide variety of clothing styles, from jeans to suits, on Sundays. We're not concerned with what you wear on the outside. Our focus is on what's on the inside. Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn't we?
What happens when I get there?
We know it can be intimidating to walk up to a place you've never been before. When you arrive at Grace you'll encounter our Greeters at the door. They are there to give you a friendly hello, help answer any questions you may have, and show you where you are going. They will also help you find the different areas of the church, such as the nursery, Sunday School classes, bathrooms, and the sanctuary.
What are the services like?
Our staff spends several hours each week designing a worship experience that will lead people of all ages and stages in life to connect with God.
Our music style is unique to our church and our goal is to bring authentic worship using a variety of musical styles. You might hear a traditional hymn coupled with a few contemporary songs and a song you’ve never heard before. Our music team is made up of a choir, a few singers with microphones and our band. Check out our Music & Worship ministry page.
The majority of preaching is done by our pastor, Jeff Walker. His messages are always Biblically based and practical. If you have a Bible, bring it with you to worship. If not, or if you forget yours, Bibles are available in the sanctuary seats. You can watch past sermons online.
The Sunday morning worship service lasts approximately 75 minutes, which means you can beat the crowd to the restaurants!
Do I need to donate money when I visit?
We believe tithing is a Biblical principal and we do encourage it. However, our guests should not feel any obligation to participate. During the offering time, if you have filled out the guest contact card attached to the bulletin, we will ask you tear it off and drop it in the offering plate.
What happens after the service?
When the service finishes, you can visit the Information Table in the back of the church to find more information on our ministries and upcoming events. The pastor will be at the exit to meet you and answer any questions you may have about Grace.
What small groups or bible study classes are offered?
We have Sunday School classes for all ages that meet at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. We also have discipleship classes that focus on certain topics (like parenting, finance, marriage, etc.) that meet at various times during the year. You can find more information about these groups under the "Ministries" drop-down at the top of the page.
Our greeters can help you find which class might be a good fit for you. They can also guide you to your rooms. These groups and classes provide a time of fellowship, encouragement, and studying the Word of God.
